1. I’m fairly new to Thesis… how do I get the CC boxes on my Thesis CC theme?
2. I noticed the code you have for the Optin is aWeber. I am using Mailchimp. How do I go about setting up the Optin (First Name and Email) for Mailchimp.
3. The small feature image is NOT WP Featured Image. Can this be made possible or do I have load new images to use the CC featured image located in the post editor? If using the CC smaill featured image what size should that image be in order to fit nicely like in your demo?
Thanks!
Greg
May 27, 2014 at 7:22 pm #160Hey Greg,
- To use the CC boxes, you will simply add them from the drop-down menu in your “Thesis Skin Editor”, then “Shift + Drag” them into your templates where you would like them to be displayed. After you add them, you can customize the content inside them to your liking.
- The optin forms are actually created using your HTML code, so while my example does use Aweber, you can use your own HTML form code (with the proper CSS classes) and likely a little CSS tweaking but Mailchimp should work fine with a little customization.
- For images that are displayed at the top of the post (above your post title, full-width) you will use the “Thesis Post Image” meta box located on your post editor page. I think this is what you were talking about.
If you have any other questions are have problems with this, let me know.

1. Can you assist in getting the MailChimp looking right if need be via some CSS. I suppose many people use Mailchimp so this would definitely come in handy in the forums.
2. Regarding the featured image: How do constantly get the same size in the “Thesis post image” so that it appears real nice on the home and single post page(s). Did you have to manually crop each picture ? Or is there something I can do to control the height. Take a look here at a recent Criss Cross client http://www.denisantunez.com/. I really like what he did.
Thanks!
Greg
May 28, 2014 at 4:13 pm #170You’re Welcome Greg,
If you have some sample HTML code for a Mailchimp form you could post I would be happy to help you with the CSS, otherwise I will build support for Mailchimp forms into the next update.
As far as the post images are concerned, their width can be larger or smaller than your post box and they will automatically adjust to fit in the top area of your posts. The width will be the same as the width you set in your ‘Skin Design’ options so I would recommend cropping your photos to that width in pixels.
The height will be shown in full (no overlapping) so if you want a consistent image size, crop the photos to the exact height you would like to remain the same.
I think that should help. Let me know if you need more info.
May 28, 2014 at 7:36 pm #182Thanks Thomas,
Here is what MailChimp calls the “Naked” html code. It’s pretty stripped out.
Just fyi, I tried using the Thesis Mailchimp boxes but that did not look good at all with Criss Cross Theme.
RE: Featured image. Thank-You!
Thanks Again!,
Greg

May 28, 2014 at 9:33 pm #185I will have to work on this one for a little bit to make everything work/look right. Once I have it all finished, I will post the code & instructions here.
May 29, 2014 at 9:31 am #191Ok. Great!
May 30, 2014 at 9:19 am #194Hey Thomas… just fyi. I purchased the Thesis Mailchimp boxes about 1yr ago. I know Thesis has a new licensing deal with there API’s. (Thesis recent blog post). I don’t know if this helps you or not but I thought to let you know.
In addition, I believe Criss Cross should warrant both aWeber and Mailchimp boxes. The way Criss Cross is laid out for Marketers and Bloggers I think this is real essential and attractive for more sales of the skin.
Thanks Again,
Greg
May 30, 2014 at 4:53 pm #195You are right, I plan to include the Aweber & Mailchimp boxes into the next skin update.
The update should (hopefully) solve any/all email form issues.
May 30, 2014 at 7:32 pm #198Are you going to post the code up here in the forum, as stated above, so I can deploy it?
June 3, 2014 at 6:13 pm #202Any word on the Mailchimp box or code?
Greg
June 6, 2014 at 4:16 pm #206Hey Greg,
Sorry I haven’t posted Mailchimp code yet, I am currently building Mailchimp support into the Criss Cross update that I will be rolling out soon.
The update will allow you to easily connect with your Mailchimp account and add forms wherever you like.
I will let you know right away when the update is ready!
