Hi! I get a strange behavior on my server running PHP 5.2.17. I am not able to activate the skin.
Thesis says it is activated but the classic theme is still active.
On a local development version running never PHP it works. Unfortunately I am not able to upgrade to never PHP version yet due to some old typo3 sites also running on my VPS host.
Do you have any suggestion how to solve this? Criss Cross Skin was a part of my upgrade path.
May 28, 2014 at 4:16 pm #171Hey!
Hmmmmm, this one might be a little tricky because it sounds like it’s a hosting/PHP issue. I will look into this a little further and see if I can find any information but you may be out of luck until you can update PHP on your VPS host (if that is indeed the problem).
I hope we can get this one figured out.
May 28, 2014 at 4:57 pm #177I have just upgrated the PHP to 5.3.28, but I still am unable to activate the skin. I saw one error message on the server about unable to activate a box, unfortunately I have deleted the error message
The Pearsonified skin activates and works as expected on the server.
May 28, 2014 at 5:12 pm #178Hmmm, this is very strange to hear. I haven’t had any other users experience activation issues.
If you sent me some login credentials I could try logging-in and activating, otherwise it’s hard for me to know what the problem is. You said you had an error about activating a box.. I’m wondering if there may be a naming conflict.
You could try de-activating boxes/plugins you have installed and then activating the skin.
We should be able to figure this out since activating hasn’t been a recurring problem.
May 28, 2014 at 5:36 pm #179You can check it against older versions of PHP locally with this:
May 28, 2014 at 5:53 pm #180I tested it myself, it activated as expected on the local server running <span style=”color: #444444;”>PHP to 5.3.28.</span>
May 28, 2014 at 6:11 pm #181This is so strange to me because I have had the skin running on different versions of PHP…
I am a little baffled by this one. Let me do some more digging and see if I can find anything.
May 29, 2014 at 4:36 am #187I have sent you login detail to my test site.
May 29, 2014 at 4:23 pm #192Ok, so I was able to figure out one problem but then a new one arose.
I made a few changes to the code of Criss Cross and uploaded a copy and I was able to get the skin activated.
The only problem is that everything works fine but the page templates are empty so the site displays nothing.
I re-uploaded the regular version of Criss Cross so at this time you are in the same place you were, unable to activate.
I am going to keep working on this, I apologize for the issues, I really think we will figure this one out.
June 2, 2014 at 1:08 pm #200I am in the same situation. The skin downloads fine and sitting as a skin option in skin editor. I try to activate, and it won’t activate. It stays as Thesis Classic Responsive Skin.
June 6, 2014 at 4:14 pm #205It is so strange to me that this is happening on your site. I am going to be rolling out an update on the skin soon and hopefully it will work out your issues.
I apologize for this happening, I haven’t had this problem with anyone else. I promise to try my best at working this out!
June 8, 2014 at 7:14 am #208Hi there, I’m having the same issue.
When I try to activate it, it activates Classic instead. I can’t even preview it in dev mode either
thank you
June 8, 2014 at 5:04 pm #209I had no problem activating.
Could it be a plugin problem?
I would remove all deactivated plugins not being used. Then I would deactivate the rest.

June 10, 2014 at 4:34 am #213Deactivated the plugins and still the same
June 10, 2014 at 4:01 pm #216I am still working on finding a fix for this one. There has only been this issue with a few users so it’s hard to determine exactly where the problem is coming from.
I am really sorry this is happening and I promise I am trying my best to figure out why. I have also contacted Chris about the problem to see if he might know where it is coming from.
Hopefully the update coming soon will take care of this on it’s own.
